as she closes her eyes, she heaved a sigh. disappointment? relief? she does not know. the distinct line that seperates both emotions has become blurred akin to footprints on sand that has been washed away by the stormy waves.
perhaps it was for the better; perhaps it was not. she assured herself: what was meant to be, will be.
His touch, his words, his breath on her neck that felt so comforting after a day's work. it was no longer meant to be. everything has taken a standstill; reversed; and back to the starting point.
it wasn't really how she thought it would end. she comforted herself that she knew the outcome from the beginning; but distractions had strayed her from her path.
her freinds told her their deductions of him; but she immediately shot them down, and said "he's not like that!" But now, as she sat there in solitude, she thinks: how would she know? does she really know the real him? His answer to that burning question she had had hit the nail on the head.
perhaps she was led.. perhaps.
she opened her eyes and stared at the raindrops that trickled down the glass panes. she followed the trail of one raindrop- as she witness how that raindrop merged with other raindrops to form 'rills' and 'gullies'- to the bottom of the window sill. at the corner of the window, a tiny stream has been formed due to the heavy rain.
at the roar of the thunder, it flashed across her mind:
Romans 8:28.
She thank God as how He had used these tiny raindrops to make her understand how the journey of life goes- she may have been hurt, but she knows that God has better things stored in the future.
and then, for the first time in days, she smiled.
