so its about compromise.
we use the word very frequently nowadays. we use it between 2 or more parties to reach to an agreement.
this year, 2008, i've compromised quite a lot in a number of different matters.
during Christmas, i had an epiphany, if you will: that God did not compromise his love for us when He came down. He didn't go:
"yup, so lets compromise. so My Son has to shed some blood, in order to get all you people up in heaven with Me again, so instead of crucifying him on the cross, with that nail-pierced hands, and feet; let's forget that crown of thorns too... I think thats really painful. lets just use a needle and prick his finger.. ok? tell Pilate to have the punishment meted out like that"
so... compromise. why should we compromise God for other things?
---------
looks like i'll be gg out afterall.
happy new year, all! :)
have a smashing, blessed one. :)

last day of the year, again.
one year ago, jamie and i nearly died. hahaha.. we could be illegal immigrants if we went back to sweden. haha
oh well. thank God we had a safe return.
this year's concluding message could be in a word and a shape:
"compromise" and a circle.
since i doubt i'll be out tonight, i'll leave the long post to later.
i'm getting darn lazy nowadays. =/ but yea. i'll write it later

christmas is here again. one year ago, aya, yiwen and I marveled at the majestic Eiffel tower; we had lunch with paris most handsome guy, victor. haha and we were in awe of how the tower lighted up.
we spent christmas at disneyland the next day. though we didn't understand almost anything the park said (cos it was french), we definitely had a magical one.
eiffel tower. disney land. paris. christmas. 2007.
this year, I'll be spending christmas with friends and family. as we grow older, we only learn to appreciate the real meaning of christmas. it is all about 'giving with love'.
i owe you a christmas post besides this. i have a lot in my mind. but now, i have to pack my stuff for an overnight stay this christmas- a night filled with love, laughter, music, friends and drinks.
but before i hit 'publish', here's a mail forwarded by mother this morning. made me develop a different perspective to this song: "12 days of christmas"

A Bit of Christmas Carol Trivia:
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHAT THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS SONG
REALLY MEANT?
I for one have found the endless singing of the 12 Days of Christmas to be rather annoying until one of my good friends, Freddy Hoe from Singapore, sent me the history and the reason for this song:
From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were
not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone
during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics.
It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning
plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church.. Each
element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality
which the children could remember.
-The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.
-Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.
-Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.
-The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.
-The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.
-The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.
-Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit--Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.
-The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.
-Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.
-The ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.
-The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.
-The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.
So there is your history for today. This knowledge was shared with me and I found it interesting and enlightening and now I know how that strange song became a Christmas Carol...
Have A Merry (Twelve Days of) Christmas Everyone!
